Arabi Reassures Intending Pilgrims on Hajj Fares

The Chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi OON fwc has reassures Nigerian intending pilgrims, for the forth coming pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia,  that his leadership is determined to ensure that the 2024 Hajj fare remains within the N4,500,000 threshold and not above.

In a press release by Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara, an Assistant  Director, Public Affairs, at the Commission,  the Acting Chairman informs the intending pilgrims and the the ummah at large  that the  leadership of NAHCON under his watch,   remains committed in carrying all Hajj stakeholders along in the activities of the commission to ensure  a successful Hajj and  that Hajj fare  will remains within the N4,500,000 threshold earlier announced .

The Chairman appreciates the support it has been receiving from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu  GCFR and the Vice President Kashim Shettima  GCON in bolstering hope of the Commission’s primary clients, the pilgrims, as well as all other stakeholders.

Malam Arabi reveals that NAHCON will announce the final Hajj fare as soon as it finalizes negotiations with service providers and other relevant government agencies involved in Hajj matters.

Still In the same press release,  the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) affirms  the approval it initially granted 40 Private Tour Operators to undertake the Hajj activities and with the affirmation, it has resumes allocation of seats to the 40 approved Tour Operators. NAHCON paused allocation of Hajj seats to Private Tour Operators following some complaints it received over the selection of the 40 operators approved to run the 2024 Hajj under the private sectors window

The stay in action was in the spirit of inclusivity and receptiveness, of the  NAHCON leadership styles. It granted the complainants  for the benefit of doubt by conducting investigation into the complainants  petitions. At the end of the probe, NAHCON and other stakeholders are convinced  that the objections raised were not sufficient to overturn the approval granted the 40 approved operators for the 2024 Hajj.

It says the qualified companies convincingly met the laid down criteria vis-à-vis
a. Capacity of operation;
b. Years of experience;
c. Historical antecedents; and
d. Clean bill of operation.

The release  confirms in view of this development the remaining 70 successful companies have already proceeded with mergers alongside the approved 40. Furthermore, in other to ensure enabling environment for the mergers to be rancour free and inline with its statutory role as the supervisor  and regulatory body, NAHCON has urged the companies entering into agreements to forward to the Commission copies of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and other legal documents binding them into the business for perusal and documentation.
