Strait of Hormuz Not a Playground, Iran Warns US

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has cautioned the United States against any involvement in security matters in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any interference or provocative action would trigger a strong military response.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the headquarters described the strategic waterway as part of Iran’s sovereign territory, insisting that its security and stability remain a red line for the country’s armed forces. “The Strait of Hormuz is not a playground for an aggressive America, but the undisputed sovereign domain of the Islamic Republic of Iran, it said.
The military command said all oil tankers and commercial ships passing through the strait must use the navigation route designated by Iranian authorities to ensure safe passage.
According to the statement, any vessel that ignores Iran’s approved route or fails to comply with its navigation regulations risks facing immediate action from the Iranian armed forces, a move it said could endanger the safety of the offending ships.
Iran also warned that any attempt by the United States to influence security operations or create instability in the Strait of Hormuz would be treated as a violation of its national sovereignty and would be met with a swift and firm response.
The headquarters further accused the US of undermining security in the region through the continued deployment of manned and unmanned fighter aircraft over the Strait of Hormuz. It said such military activities threaten stability in one of the world’s most important shipping routes.
Reaffirming its position, Iran said it remains committed to protecting its sovereign rights in the Strait of Hormuz and would not hesitate to take what it described as necessary measures against any act of aggression or trespass by US forces or their allies.
