Muslim Elders Condemn Turkey School Shooting

The Council calls for stronger efforts to promote tolerance and peace to fight violence

An international Islamic organization based in UAE has strongly condemned a deadly shooting at a school in central turkey that left several people dead and others injured.

In a statement, the group described the attack on an educational facility as a serious violation of human values, stressing that targeting innocent people, especially in schools, must be rejected globally. It warned that such incidents threaten community peace and stability.

The council said the attack goes against the peaceful teachings of Islam and all other religions. It added that violence against civilians can never be justified under any reason, and called for stronger international efforts to address extremism and protect lives.

It also highlighted the need to guide young people away from harmful ideas that can lead to violence, urging both security and educational efforts to tackle the root causes of such acts.

The group further called for promoting tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect among different communities. It said education based on moderation and understanding is key to preventing extremism and building a more peaceful society.

The council urged schools and institutions to introduce awareness programmes that teach respect, acceptance, and the value of human life. It added that dialogue between cultures can help reduce hatred and prevent future violence.

The organisation expressed condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and government of Turkey, while wishing a quick recovery for those injured. It also called on the global community to work together to create a safer environment for future generations.
