Iran Reopens Airspace Welcome First Hajj Pilgrims

Flight operations have resumed at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Iran following the reopening of the country’s airspace and the lifting of air travel restrictions.

Javad Salehi Artmani, Deputy Director of Airport Operations at the airport, confirmed that the first flights carrying pilgrims returning from Hajj have successfully landed at the Salam Terminal.

According to reports, the resumption of services coincides with the return of normal flight activities across Iran after previous restrictions on air travel were lifted.

Artmani said all operational, service, and support units at the airport are fully prepared and are providing uninterrupted services to passengers, airlines, and other users.

He added that the airport is functioning normally and is ready to handle the increasing number of travellers, including returning Hajj pilgrims.

The arrival of the first Hajj flights marks a significant step in the restoration of regular aviation operations at one of Iran’s busiest international airports.
