1. So far, 36,310 Nigerian pilgrims have been successfully airlifted to Saudi Arabia across 91 flight operations, according to NAHCON.
2. A flight departed Sokoto via Abuja to Madinah at 01:32hrs with 301 Sokoto pilgrims and 27 officials.
3. Another flight has departed Lagos to Madinah with 300 pilgrims and 6 officials onboard. The flight conveyed 94 Edo pilgrims and 206 Armed Forces pilgrims.
4. Also 412 Zamfara pilgrims departed Gusau to Madinah at 13:32hrs.
5. The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has intensified preparations ahead of the Mina outing with a strategic meeting in Makkah focusing on pilgrims’ welfare, feeding, hygiene and medical care.
6. FCT officials say the board was highly rated by NAHCON for feeding arrangements, timely airlift and accommodation proximity to Masjid al-Haram.
7. Niger State has completed the airlift of 2,281 pilgrims through six flights between May 11 and May 17 from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna.
8. Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has commended officials, airlines, medical teams and security agencies for the successful operations, urging pilgrims to pray for peace and stability in Nigeria.
9. Saudi authorities have trained Nigerian Hajj officials on pilgrim safety, crowd control and emergency response ahead of peak Hajj operations in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah.
10. The training focused on updated operational guidelines, crisis management strategies and coordination between Hajj missions during high-density pilgrim movements.
11. Saudi Arabia says advanced technology and expanded logistics are being deployed ahead of the 2026 Hajj expected to attract millions of pilgrims from across the world.
12. Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has forecast temperatures between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius in Makkah and the holy sites during the Hajj days.
13. Authorities say strong dusty winds and sand movement are expected during daytime across Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, with humidity levels projected between 10 and 40 percent.

- There is no fixed du’a specifically required when drinking Zamzam water, and many scholar encourage pilgrims to make personal supplications while drinking it.
- If Ihram clothing becomes stained or impure during Umrah, the pilgrimage remains valid as long as the impurity is cleaned or the garment is changed appropriately.
- Pilgrims are permitted to pause briefly during Sa’i between Safa and Marwah due to fatigue, crowding, or rest needs without invalidating the rite.
- Tawaf al-Wida (the farewell Tawaf) is generally required for Hajj pilgrims but is not an obligation for Umrah according to the majority of scholars.
- If a pilgrim forgets to begin reciting the Talbiyah immediately after entering Ihram, the Umrah remains valid, though scholars recommend reciting it once remembered.
