BREAKING: Former President Muhammadu Buhari passes away in London

Former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has died in London, his family has announced.
The news was made public on Saturday by his former aide, Bashir Ahmad, who posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin.”
Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
Buhari, 81, led Nigeria as a civilian president from 2015 to 2023 and earlier as military head of state from 1983 to 1985. He was widely recognised for his anti-corruption campaign and efforts to stabilise the Nigerian economy.
His family is expected to release further information on burial arrangements in line with Islamic traditions.
