Yari Calls on Clerics to Deepen Prayers for Peace in Zamfara

By Sadiq Abdulfatah

Former Zamfara State Governor and senator, Abdulaziz Yari, has called on Islamic clerics and chief imams in the state to increase prayers for peace to return to Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.

He made the appeal on Tuesday in Talata Mafara during a gathering attended by over 1,000 Islamic clerics and chief imams from the state’s 14 local government areas.

Yari said religious leaders play a key role in society because they are close to the people and guide them through daily prayers and teachings.

He urged them to use their position to encourage good conduct and consistently pray for peace and stability in the country.

According to him, sincere prayers can help address the security and social challenges facing communities if people remain united in seeking divine intervention.

Yari also appealed to the clerics to pray for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal to succeed in their leadership roles.

He said restoring peace in Zamfara is very important so that farmers and traders can return to their normal daily activities.
