The Last to Enter Paradise (Golden Words of Allah Episode 59)

“Then Allah will say: Go and enter Paradise. You will have what is equal to the world and ten times as much.”(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 186)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. All perfect praise is due to Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, the Lord of the Worlds. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and Muhammad (pbuh), is His slave and final Messenger.

Introduction
Among the countless treasures of Hadith, one of the most moving is the account of the last man to leave Hell and enter Paradise. It is a story of divine mercy and Allah’s overwhelming kindness to His servants, even the most sinful.

The Prophet (pbuh) narrated this detailed Hadith to offer hope to every soul who believes in Allah and His Messenger, no matter how weighed down by sin.

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “The last person to enter Paradise will be a man who will walk once, stumble once, and be burnt by the Fire once. When he gets beyond it, he will turn to it and say, ‘Blessed is He Who has saved me from you. Allah has given me something that He did not give to the first and the last.’”

Then, Allah will ask him to wish, and he will continue making wishes until he has exhausted them. Then Allah will say: “You shall have what you have wished for and the like thereof with it.”

The man will be astonished and say: “Are You mocking me, while You are the Lord of the worlds?”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) then smiled and said: “This is the one who will be the last to enter Paradise.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 186; also found in Sahih al-Bukhari)

This man was not among the righteous. He had entered Hell, experienced its torment, and thought himself unworthy. But Allah, in His mercy, saved him, forgave him, and granted him a reward ten times the entire world.

This Hadith is a mirror of Ar-Rahman’s compassion. Even for the weakest believer, Allah’s mercy outweighs His wrath.

Allah says: “My mercy encompasses all things.” (Surah Al-A’raf, 7:156)

And in another Hadith Qudsi: “My mercy prevails over My wrath.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

A heart that believes, even with the weight of sin, is not forgotten by Allah. Repentance can be the light that leads one out of the fire and into eternal peace. Let not despair ever darken the soul of the believer, for the Lord who forgave the last man and multiplied his reward beyond imagination is still the Lord of today.

“Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins…” (Surah Az-Zumar, 39:53)
