Qalibaf Vows Crushing Retaliation After Khamenei Assassination
Iranian parliament speaker warns US and Israel of ‘painful blows,’ says enemies will ‘beg for mercy’

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has issued a stern warning to the United States and Israel following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in what Tehran describes as a joint act of aggression.
In a televised address on Sunday, Qalibaf declared that Iran’s Armed Forces would exact revenge for the killing, warning Washington and Tel Aviv that they had crossed Iran’s “red line.”
“We will take revenge on the Americans and Israelis. You have crossed our red line. We will strike you with such terrible blows that you will beg for mercy,” he said.
The senior Iranian official emphasized that the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei would not disrupt the course of the Islamic Revolution, stressing continuity of leadership and national unity. He said contingency plans had long been prepared for all possible scenarios, including the eventual martyrdom of the Leader.
“We have prepared ourselves for all scenarios, and even plans have been drawn up for the time when Imam Khamenei’s martyrdom arrives,” Qalibaf stated.
He noted that the establishment of a transitional leadership council would ensure cohesion at the highest levels of governance while strengthening Iran’s defensive posture.
Qalibaf pointed to ongoing retaliatory operations targeting what he described as strategic Israeli positions in the occupied territories and American military bases across West Asia, saying the strikes had demonstrated Iran’s operational readiness and surprised military observers.
Addressing the United States and Israel directly, he warned that further violations of Iran’s sovereignty would provoke decisive consequences.
Ayatollah Khamenei, along with members of his family and several senior military commanders, was martyred on Saturday during what Iranian authorities call Israeli-American aggression.
Iranian officials have vowed that retaliation will continue, asserting that the path of resistance remains unwavering despite the loss of the country’s top leader.
