No talks with US Iran warns regional states

Iran rejects Trump claims, says countries used for attacks will face consequences

Iran has denied that it is engaged in any active negotiations with the United States, directly contradicting claims by US President Donald Trump that Tehran had sought talks but was not yet ready to proceed.

A senior Iranian parliamentary official, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said on Thursday there were no ongoing discussions with Washington.

His comments followed a closed-door meeting with military and defence officials reviewing what Iran describes as continuing operations against the United States and Israel.

Rezaei also issued a warning to regional countries, saying any state that allows its territory or military facilities to be used against Iran would be treated as a hostile actor.

The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions following US-Israeli strikes on Iran, which Tehran says have triggered a wider escalation across West Asia.

Iran has since carried out retaliatory drone and missile attacks targeting Israel as well as positions linked to US forces in Jordan, Iraq and several Gulf states.

Rezaei also pushed back against US claims regarding Iran’s energy infrastructure, saying Kharg Island remains secure and that oil exports from the facility continue without disruption. He rejected assertions that American strikes had destroyed military infrastructure while sparing oil terminals.

The broader conflict, which Iranian officials date to strikes launched on 28 February, has rapidly expanded into a multi-front confrontation across the region, raising fears of further escalation involving US forces and their allies.

Tehran maintains that its attacks are directed at military targets linked to the United States and Israel, while warning that any continued use of regional territory for strikes against Iran will broaden the scope of its response.
