MAWLID Al-NABI: OMC Felicitates Muslims, Calls for Reflection and National Unity
Urges Leaders to Emulate Prophet Muhammad’s Virtues, Prays for Peace in Nigeria

The Ogun State Muslim Council (OMC) has congratulated Muslims in Ogun State, Nigeria and beyond on the 2025 Mawlid Al Nabi, calling for deep reflection on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and urging national unity.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta and jointly signed by the Secretary-General, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, and Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Hassan Adekunle, the Council commended the Federal Government for declaring Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday.
The council described the Prophet as “a mercy to the worlds” (Qur’an 21:107), noting that his virtues of peace, humility, justice and devotion to Allah should inspire both leaders and citizens.
It also reminded Muslims of the Prophet’s teaching that “The best of you are those who are best in character,” stressing that moral integrity, discipline and peaceful coexistence must guide daily life.
OMC called on leaders to emulate the Prophet’s example of fairness, accountability and service to humanity in governance, while urging Muslims to celebrate moderately and intensify prayers for peace and development in Ogun State and Nigeria.
The statement prayed that Allah bless the Ummah and strengthen Muslims to be agents of positive change.

OMC Felicitates Muslims on 2025 Mawlid Al-Nabi, Urges Reflection and Unity
The Ogun State Muslim Council (OMC) has felicitated Muslims in Ogun State, Nigeria, and across the world on the 2025 Mawlid Al-Nabi, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued in Abeokuta jointly signed by the Secretary-General, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, and Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Hassan Adekunle, OMC welcomed the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday for the celebration.
The organisation urged Muslims to reflect on the noble life of the Prophet (SAW), who was described in the Qur’an as “a mercy to the worlds” (Qur’an 21:107). His exemplary virtues of peace, humility, justice, and devotion to Allah remain timeless guidance for building a just and prosperous society.
OMC also reminded Muslims of the Prophet’s teaching that “The best of you are those who are best in character” (Sahih Bukhari), stressing that the values of discipline, moral integrity, and peaceful coexistence must guide their daily lives.
The Council called on leaders at all levels to emulate the Prophet’s model of fairness, accountability, and service to humanity in governance. It further enjoined Muslim faithful to celebrate in moderation, promote unity across faiths, and intensify prayers for peace, stability, and development in Ogun State and Nigeria.
OMC prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the worship of the Ummah, showers His blessings on our nation, and strengthens Muslims to be agents of positive change.
