IHR Sets Agenda for Hajj Reforms, Hosts Post-Hajj Lecture in Abuja
VP Shettima, Saudi Ambassador, NAHCON Chairman among dignitaries expected

Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) has announced that its Annual Post-Hajj Lecture and Recognition Event will hold on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the National Mosque Auditorium, Central Area, Abuja. The event will commence at 10:00 a.m.
In a statement signed by Ibrahim Muhammed on behalf of the Planning Committee, IHR said this year’s programme will focus on “For the Interest of Pilgrims: Nigeria and the Quest for Best Hajj Operational Practices.” The event is supported by the Jigawa State Government under the leadership of Governor Umar Namadi.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, will serve as Special Guest of Honour, while Dr. Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, National Deputy President of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria and veteran Hajj affairs administrator, will chair the occasion.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Shehu Usman Muhammed, a former Kaduna State Commissioner of Education and seasoned technocrat in Hajj administration.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Faisal Bin Ebraheem Alghamdi, as Guest of Honour; Ustaz Abubakr Siddeeq Muhammad, MD/CEO Comerel Travels and Tours, as Guest Speaker; and NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, as Chief Host.
According to IHR, the Post-Hajj Lecture is designed as a platform for stakeholders to review lessons from the 2025 Hajj, share best practices, and develop strategies to improve pilgrim-focused Hajj operations in Nigeria.
