This is the time to pour our hearts out to Allah, seeking His mercy, guidance, and forgiveness. But how do we make the most of these remaining nights?

A Dua manual helps to structure our supplications, reflect on our spiritual needs, and make sincere prayers.

Writing down our Dua helps us focus on what we truly desire from Allah. We may have many things to ask for, but a Dua journal helps us reflect on our biggest spiritual, personal, and worldly needs. Looking back at previous Dua reminds us of Allah’s blessings and how our prayers have been answered.

An easy way to go about it is to start by reflecting on what are the most pressing matters on your heart? What are the things you regret not asking Allah for earlier?

Be specific and intentional in your Dua supplications, make them personal and detailed. For example, instead of just saying “Ya Allah, grant me success,” say “Ya Allah, grant me success in my exams/job and make it a means of benefit for me in this life and the hereafter.”

The Prophet (pbuh) taught Aisha (RA) a powerful Dua for Laylatul Qadr: “O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”(Tirmidhi)

Nigeria – The Islamic organization Nasrul‑Lahi‑L‑Fatih Society announced a major overnight programme to observe Laylatul Qadr at its Islamic centre in Lagos. The gathering will bring together thousands of worshippers for prayers, lectures and spiritual reflection during the final ten nights of Ramadan.

Nigeria – Militants linked to Islamic State West Africa Province carried out coordinated attacks against Nigerian forces in parts of Borno State earlier this month during Ramadan, according to security reports. The attacks reportedly caused casualties among troops and the destruction or capture of military equipment.

Indonesia – Authorities say about two million packages of zakat al‑fitr worth nearly $26 million have been distributed nationwide as part of a Ramadan poverty-relief initiative. Coordinating Minister Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar said the program involves cooperation between government agencies and hundreds of zakat and philanthropic organizations to support vulnerable households before Eid.

Ghana – The government has declared March 20 and 21 as public holidays to mark Eid al‑Fitr, with an additional holiday on March 23 because one of the statutory holidays falls on a weekend. Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed‑Mubarak said the extra holiday was approved by President John Dramani Mahama under the country’s Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act.

United Arab Emirates – Shoppers are crowding Dubai Festival City Mall in Dubai for a Ramadan Super Sale offering discounts of up to 90% ahead of Eid celebrations. Retailers say the promotion, running through mid-March, is boosting consumer spending during the final days of Ramadan.

These last 10 nights require staying up longer, strategic 20-minute naps after Fajr or before Iftar can prevent exhaustion without disrupting your sleep cycle.

Did you know?

Dua Between Adhan and Iqamah is Never Rejected? The Prophet (pbuh) said: “The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is not rejected.” (Sunan Abu Dawood, 521).

Dua in the Last Third of the Night is Powerful? The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Our Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains, and He says: ‘Who is calling upon Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking from Me so that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?’” (Sahih al-Bukhari, 1145; Sahih Muslim, 758).

Qur’an Verse of the Day

“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be guided.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186)

Hadiths

Narrated An-Nu’man bin Bashir (RA): The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Dua (supplication) is worship.” Then he recited the verse: ‘And your Lord said: Invoke Me, I will respond to you. Verily, those who scorn My worship will surely enter Hell in humiliation.’ (Qur’an 40:60)” (Sunan Abu Dawood, 1479; Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, 2969 – Hasan Sahih)

Narrated Anas bin Malik (RA): “The supplication that the Prophet (pbuh) made most frequently was: (O Allah, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire).”(Sahih al-Bukhari, 6389; Sahih Muslim, 2688)
