Bidding Farewell – Ramadan Digest (Day 28)
As Ramadan slips away, we find ourselves at a crossroads of emotions, gratitude for the opportunity to witness it, sorrow at its departure, and hope that we have made the most of its countless blessings.
Ramadan was never meant to be an end but a training ground for the months ahead. The true measure of our devotion is not just in how we worshipped during these sacred days, but in how we carry its lessons forward. Will we continue to guard our tongues, perform our night prayers, and keep our hearts connected to the Quran?
The departure of Ramadan should not mark the end of our spiritual journey but the beginning of a renewed commitment to Allah. As we bid farewell, let us make du’a that Allah accepts our fasts, forgives our shortcomings, and allows us to witness many more Ramadans in good health and faith.

UAE – Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum concluded the Ramadan “Edge of Life” initiative, securing AED2.8 billion ($762 million) from 44,000 contributors. The campaign aims to save five million children from hunger and prevent 30 million from malnutrition worldwide during the holy month.
Morocco – In Rabat, King Mohammed VI presided over Laylat ul Qadr, the holiest night in Islam, at the Royal Palace. The vigil gathered royal family members, religious scholars, government officials, and diplomats, reflecting Morocco’s tradition of royal participation in Ramadan’s spiritual observances.
Nigeria – Human rights lawyer Barrister Musa Abubakar Tudunwada raised concerns over alleged unfair distribution of Ramadan rice among Kano State Hisbah Board personnel. Tudunwada said he would seek a formal explanation from the board’s Commander General, warning of further action if transparency is not provided.
Canada – A Calgary, Alberta, school designated its cafeteria as a “no food space” during lunch to accommodate fasting students, sparking criticism online. The policy affects different grade levels at varying times, raising questions about fairness and inclusion during Ramadan observances.
Middle East – As Ramadan nears its end, ongoing conflicts in the Middle East are estimated to cost $1 billion daily. Humanitarian agencies report 19 million internally displaced people, with Zakat donations providing structured support to refugees, widows, and struggling families, turning religious obligation into a vital survival mechanism.

Quran Verse of the Day
“The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as who believe in Allah and the Last Day. Who establish regular prayers and pay the zakah and fear none but Allah. It is they who are on the true guidance” ( At-Taubah:18)
Hadiths
Ibn Rajab (rahimahullah) said: “The Sahabah would spend six months asking Allah to accept their Ramadan, and the next six months praying to reach the next Ramadan.”
The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted a whole year.” (Sahih Muslim 1164)
