Turkey’s Hakan Fidan to represent Erdogan on Trump-backed ‘Board of Peace’
Peace Magazine learned that Fidan will attend the leaders-level signing ceremony in Davos on behalf of Erdogan, following a direct invitation extended by Trump to the Turkish president.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will represent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on U.S. President Donald Trump’s international “Board of Peace,” a Turkish official said Wednesday, confirming Ankara’s participation in the initiative.
Trump had invited Erdogan to join the board, which was initially presented as an effort to help end the war in Gaza but has since been described by the U.S. president as a broader mechanism to address global conflicts.
Erdogan confirmed Fidan’s participation while speaking to reporters in parliament, responding to questions about whether he had accepted Trump’s invitation. “Hakan will join,” Erdogan said.
The signing ceremony for the initiative is expected to take place Thursday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where Trump is due to preside over the event.
A Turkish official with direct knowledge of the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly, said Fidan would represent Erdogan at the leaders-level “Board of Peace.”
Earlier, the White House had announced that Fidan would serve on a separate body described as the “Gaza Executive Board,” alongside U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry later confirmed in a statement that Fidan would attend Thursday’s ceremony, underscoring Ankara’s involvement in the initiative.
The scope, mandate and operational structure of the “Board of Peace” have not been fully detailed, but Trump has said the body is intended to play a role in resolving conflicts beyond Gaza.
