In Makkah and Madinah, the first Taraweeh prayers are held in the Grand Mosque, bringing millions of Muslims together in devotion.

Global Ramadan opening news: Countries announce their first day of fasting based on moon sighting.

• Nigeria Commences Ramadan Today: The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar III, has officially declared today as the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Muslims across Nigeria  are set to begin fasting, prayers, and devotion. President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu have extended their felicitations to the Muslim faithful.

• Indonesia Marks the Start of Ramadan: Millions of Muslims in Indonesia are observing the beginning of Ramadan with traditional festivities, including parades and family gatherings. However, there are concerns over rising costs of living, impacting celebrations as prices for food and essentials have surged.

• Berlin Displays Ramadan Greetings: For the first time, Berlin’s Tiergarten Town Hall has illuminated a “Blessed Ramadan” sign, symbolizing the city’s commitment to religious and cultural diversity.

• Ceasefire Negotiations in Cairo Amid Ramadan: Israeli negotiators have returned from Cairo after discussions on a Gaza ceasefire with Hamas. As Ramadan begins, residents of Gaza prepare to observe the holy month under challenging conditions.

Health Tips
Eat fiber-rich foods like apples, oats, bananas, and dates to sustain energy. Avoid salty and fried foods to prevent dehydration.

Today’s Challenge
Write down three personal goals for Ramadan and make a sincere intention to fulfill them.

“By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell coming from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk. [Allah says:] ‘He has left his food, drink, and desires for My sake. The fast is for Me, and I will reward it accordingly, and every good deed will be multiplied tenfold.’”

“Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a tenfold reward. I do not say that ‘Alif-Lam-Mim’ is one letter, but ‘Alif’ is a letter, ‘Lam’ is a letter, and ‘Mim’ is a letter.”
