The Muslim Congress FCT Holds Annual Independence Lecture Tomorrow
The Muslim Congress (TMC), Abuja chapter, will tomorrow, Sunday, October 5, 2025, hold its Annual Independence Lecture at the National Mosque Hall, Central Business District, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Themed “The Nigerian State and Lessons from Contemporary History”, the lecture will feature Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, as Special Guest of Honour, while the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Barr. Nyesom Wike, will serve as Chief Host.
Also expected are the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, as Royal Father of the Day, and Justice Umar Faruk Abdullahi (rtd.), former President of the Court of Appeal, as Chairman of the Occasion.
The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Tajudeen Yusuf, President of the Institute of Islamic Finance of Nigeria, with panel contributions from academics and analysts including Dr. Abdul Majeed Dahir, Dr. Abdul Rahman Abu Hamisu, and Prof. Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju.
Highlights of the programme will include recognition awards to Prof. Babagana Zulum, Executive Governor of Borno State, and Prof. Tajudeen Yusuf.
According to the organisers, the event will provide a platform for reflection on Nigeria’s challenges and opportunities, while fostering unity and collaboration among stakeholders.
