SIDF forges global alliance with Muslim Hands International

Foundation partners with UK-based charity to advance education, health, and child welfare

The Sisters in Deen Foundation (SIDF) has taken a bold step onto the global stage, formalising a historic partnership with Muslim Hands International.

The milestone was marked on Tuesday, August 19, when the Foundation hosted Dr. Zahid Azeem, Global Director of Education at Muslim Hands International, and Mr. Nurudeen Ibrahim, at its Baytu Sakeenah Orphanage Home.

The visit, described by organisers as “a meeting of vision and purpose,” is expected to pave the way for collaboration in tackling some of humanity’s most pressing challenges, including hunger, education, healthcare, and gender equality.

SIDF President, Dr. Adebola Nurat Akinlabi-Babalola, alongside Welfare Secretary, Mrs. Basirat Oladosu, and Board of Trustees member, Pharm. Olajumoke Amolegbe, led the Foundation’s delegation at the event.

In a statement issued after the session, the Foundation said: “At SIDF, we have always believed that change begins with courage and service. This partnership shows our impact now resonates globally and proves that our local mission has drawn international recognition.”

It added that the partnership with the UK-based Muslim Hands International will deliver “lasting pathways of hope, opportunity, and empowerment for orphans and vulnerable children.”

Dr. Azeem, on his part, lauded the initiative, noting that Muslim Hands International is committed to strengthening grassroots institutions with proven track records of service to humanity. He said the partnership would not only enhance the reach of SIDF but also expand avenues for international cooperation in social welfare.

The Foundation also paid tribute to its women leaders, saying their vision and resilience continue to drive the organisation forward.

“This journey of impact would not be possible without committed women standing firmly by the vision, proving that true sisterhood in service remains an unstoppable force,” the statement said.

The partnership is expected to birth new projects that will improve access to education, expand healthcare services, and strengthen the welfare of orphans and vulnerable children.

SIDF has, in recent years, intensified efforts to improve child welfare and gender empowerment, attracting support from local and international partners.

Organisers described the event as “history in motion” and called on donors and well-meaning individuals to support the new alliance.
