PEACE Magazine Set for 2nd Honour Roll Ceremony in Abuja

Celebrating intelligent brains under the veil2 as platform returns to spotlight academic excellence among young Nigerian female Muslim graduates.

AS-SALAAM PEACE Magazine has announced the second edition of its highly anticipated Honour Roll Ceremony, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Nigerian Society of Engineers Auditorium, Central Business District, Abuja, by 1:30 p.m.

Themed “Celebrating Intelligent Brains Under the Veils,” the 2025 edition builds on the remarkable success of last year’s maiden ceremony, which recognized twenty-two outstanding first class young female Muslim graduates for their academic brilliance and steadfast commitment to Islamic values.

This year’s ceremony will feature a lineup of guests and speakers, led by His Excellency Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), CON, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who will serve as Special Guest of Honour.

Also expected are Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, Deputy National President of ADS, who will chair the occasion, and Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa, Executive Chairman/CEO of Sahad Stores, who will serve as Father of the Day. The Guest Speaker for the event is Dr. Habiba Muda Lawal, OON, the Gimbiyar Toro of Bauchi State, while Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, will grace the ceremony as Special Guest of Honour female.

The event will be hosted by Malam M. M. Aliyu, FNIQS, Grand Patron of PEACE Magazine, with Asiwaju Muibat F. Aribidesi, FNCS, Matron of the Magazine, serving as Hostess.

The forthcoming edition will deepen the magazine’s mission of promoting educational excellence among young Muslim women, while showcasing role models who embody the balance of intellect, faith, and service to humanity.

Speaking ahead of the event, the editorial board of PEACE Magazine said the Honour Roll Ceremony has evolved into “a national platform of inspiration” since its debut in 2024. The initiative aims to “redefine the narrative of Muslim women in education and public life, from stereotypes to stories of strength, scholarship, and impact.”

The maiden edition, held in 2024, drew dignitaries from across Nigeria’s academic, judicial, and religious communities, including Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, and Dr. Hajara Muhammad Tom, who was celebrated for earning thirteen academic awards in Medicine from Ahmadu Bello University.

This year’s gathering, according to the organizers, will not only honour a new class of honourees but also feature a lecture segment that addresses “Faith, Education and Modern Identity” reflecting the intellectual and spiritual essence of the programme.

Also, PEACE Magazine will present the “Mukaramun” (Honourable Recipients) Awards, recognizing personalities and institutions whose contributions reflect excellence and commitment to human development.

Those to be honoured include: Dr. Malam Adamu Ahmed — Patron, Sa’in Jama’are Bauchi. Dr. Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, Ph.D — Patron. Alhaja Oyinde Oluyemisi Nujidat Oshun — A Graceful Woman (Arwa Salam). Hajiya Rahmatu Musa Sani — Mother of Goodness (Ummu Soliha). Dr. Mairo Usman Mandara (MBBS, FWACS, FFPH (UK), FOC) — Bringer of Happiness (Jawaria Salam). The Honour Roll Ceremony is part of PEACE Magazine’s broader vision to empower Muslim women through storytelling, mentorship, and recognition of excellence. By highlighting achievers “under the veil,” the platform continues to affirm that modesty and progress are not opposing ideals but intertwined virtues.

A collection of creme de la creme of the Ummah including guests from foreign embassies and business leaders are expected to attend, the 2025 edition promises to be an inspiring convergence of minds and values a celebration of women who lead with grace.
