Kano Gov Yusuf Congratulates Hisbah Sheikh Daurawa on UDUS Honorary Degree

Governor says award affirms Sheikh’s role in promoting morality, scholarship

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, on the conferment of an honorary doctorate degree of letters by Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto.

The conferment took place on Saturday, September 6, during the institution’s 42nd convocation ceremony.

Governor Yusuf, who received Sheikh Daurawa at the commencement of the 31st Kano State Executive Council meeting at the governor’s lodge in Kwankwasiyya city, described the recognition as a well-deserved honour for his outstanding contributions to Islamic scholarship and moral values.

“This recognition is a testament to your tireless efforts in promoting morality and societal values in Kano State and beyond,” the governor said in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

The governor noted that as Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Daurawa has remained committed to eradicating immorality and fostering a more just society, while also advancing Islamic education.

He added that the award not only reflects Daurawa’s personal achievements but also brings pride to Kano State as a whole.

Governor Yusuf assured that his administration would continue to support Sheikh Daurawa in his service to Islam and humanity, praying that Almighty Allah grants him wisdom and strength to sustain his contributions to society.
