General Buba Marwa attends Peace Magazine Honour Roll Ceremony
As PEACE Magazine honours outstanding female Muslim graduates, NDLEA boss leads conversation on value-based education

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), CON, will on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, attend as Special Guest of Honour at the second edition of the PEACE Magazine Honour Roll Ceremony scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Society of Engineers Auditorium, Central Business District, Abuja, by 1:30 p.m.
The event, to be held at the Nigerian Society of Engineers Auditorium, highlights a growing movement within Nigeria’s Muslim community that links education, modesty and social responsibility. Organisers say Marwa’s presence as Special Guest of Honour reflects the ceremony’s wider mission to pair moral discipline with intellectual achievement.
“General Marwa represents the bridge between service and education,” the magazine’s editorial board noted. “His leadership of the NDLEA has restored a sense of accountability and national consciousness, values we hope to mirror in our young women.”
Since taking the helm of the NDLEA in 2021, Marwa has become one of Nigeria’s most respected public administrators, credited with reforming the agency and championing preventive education as a tool for national renewal. His appearance at the occasion in Abuja is expected to tie those ideals to the academic and spiritual empowerment of Muslim women, a demographic the Honour Roll aims to spotlight.
Now in its second edition, the Honour Roll Ceremony honours young female Muslim graduates who earned first-class degrees across Nigerian universities. The 2024 maiden edition drew nationwide attention for challenging stereotypes about women “under the veil,” positioning them instead as innovators and leaders.
The 2025 programme expands that vision, adding a lecture on “Faith, Education and Modern Identity”to explore how Islamic values can coexist with 21st-century progress.
Dignitaries expected include Alhaji Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, Deputy National President of ADS, as Chairman; Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa, CEO of Sahad Stores, as Father of the Day; Dr. Habiba Muda Lawal, OON, Gimbiyar Toro of Bauchi State, as Guest Speaker; and Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Minister of State for the FCT, as Special Guest of Honour (Female).
The event will be hosted by Malam M. M. Aliyu, FNIQS, Grand Patron of PEACE Magazine, with Asiwaju Muibat F. Aribidesi, FNCS, as Hostess.
The ceremony will also feature the presentation of the “Mukaramun” (Honourable Recipients)Awards, recognising individuals and institutions that embody service and compassion.
Honourees include: Dr. Malam Adamu Ahmed — Patron, Sa’in Jama’are Bauchi, Dr. Yusuf Adebayo Ibrahim, PhD — Patron, Alhaja Oyinde Oluyemisi Nujidat Oshun — A Graceful Woman (Arwa Salam), Hajiya Rahmatu Musa Sani — Mother of Goodness (Ummu Soliha), Dr. Mairo Usman Mandara (MBBS, FWACS, FFPH UK, FOC) — Bringer of Happiness (Jawaria Salam), Crown Takaful Insurance Limited — Award of Excellence: “Everyone is Better Off.”
General Marwa’s presence at the occasion sends a powerful message: that rebuilding societies begins with enlightened minds and principled leadership.
Representatives from FOMWAN, MESH, Crown Takaful Limited, Jaiz Takaful Limited as well as Jaiz bank are expected to join diplomats and business leaders at the occasion, expected to draw participants from across Nigeria.
