Eid: Radda Vows to Tackle Banditry Before Next Eid

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has assured residents that his administration is determined to put an end to banditry before the upcoming Sallah, promising that citizens will celebrate in safety and peace.

The governor spoke to reporters after performing the two raka’at Eid-el-Fitr prayer at Batagarawa Mosque, led by Imam Abdullahi Musa. He described the festival as a meaningful time for Muslims around the world, marking the conclusion of Ramadan and a moment for self-reflection.

Radda explained that the occasion is also a chance for the Muslim community to reinforce unity, compassion, and mutual support, while allowing the government to engage directly with communities affected by insecurity.

“We share in the grief of families who have lost loved ones, and we assure them that efforts are underway to curb banditry in the state,” he said. “By the next Sallah, Insha Allah, our people will be able to celebrate with peace, safety, and joy.”

He prayed for divine protection over all residents and for lasting stability, prosperity, and harmony across the state and the country.

The governor also urged citizens to continue supporting government initiatives and work together to foster peace and development. He stressed that the lessons of Ramadan are patience, generosity, fairness, and kindness and should remain part of everyday life.
